OVERVIEW
To Connect the RJ45 Cable:
- Loosen the End Cap
- Start by loosening the end cap to allow the cable to slide into the panel mount jack.
- Pull Up the Tab
- Gently pull up on the tab. Be careful not to pull too much, as it could break.
- Insert the Cable
- Slide the cable into the jack and clip it in place. You should hear a click when it’s properly seated.
- Slide Down the Connector
- While the jack is still loose, slide it all the way down, keeping pressure on the cable.
- Tighten the Connector
- Ensure the cable threads properly into the jack. Tighten it all the way down. Hold the connector firmly in place (not at the cable end, but at the base) while tightening.
- Press the Cable into Position
- After tightening, push the cable in to ensure it is seated securely and the gasket is pressed down properly.
- Tighten the End Cap
- Tighten the end cap completely. This will cinch down the cable and create a waterproof seal, ensuring a secure connection.
To Disconnect the RJ45 Cable:
- Loosen the End Cap
- Start by loosening the end cap to free the cable from the jack.
- Untwist the Cap
- Carefully untwist the cap and slide it back.
- Release the Tab and Disconnect the Cable
- Gently push the tab and disconnect the cable from the panel mount jack.
- Secure the End Cap for Outdoor Storage
- If the connection will be exposed to the elements for an extended period, make sure to properly thread the end cap back on to keep the connection waterproof and prevent corrosion.
By following these steps, you ensure that the RJ45 cable is properly connected or disconnected while maintaining a secure and waterproof connection.
